Middle Camp

A Summer Full of Adventure for Grades 1-4

Upper Camp at Camp Westwoods is designed for campers entering grades 5 through 8 in the fall. This engaging program offers a well-balanced mix of activities that cater to the interests and developmental needs of adolescents. Each week features a different sport, along with rock wall climbing, campfire cooking, theater, gymnastics, ropes course challenges, and much more. For a complete list of offerings, visit our Activities page. Campers also benefit from daily Red Cross swim instruction provided by our certified staff and enjoy a recreational swim period each afternoon.

Exciting Activities to Explore Every Day

The camp day is divided into eight 40-minute periods. Each camp group is scheduled for Swim Instruction, Free Swim, Lunch, and Workshops every day. They will also be scheduled for the activities listed below once or twice per week. Swim instruction provided by Red Cross Certified staff.

Theme Days, Field Trips & Exceptional Counselors

Every Friday in Middle Camp is a themed adventure, with past days including Disney Day, Construction Day, Olympics Party, Science Fair Day, and Superhero Day. Campers in grade 3 and above also enjoy special field trips and late-night activities throughout the summer. Each camper is placed in a group led by two counselors, many of whom are educators or future teachers chosen for their experience, warmth, and commitment to working with children. Campers are encouraged to follow camp rules and practice self-regulation, and we’re happy to discuss any additional support needs with families before the camp session begins.
