Lower Camp
Adventure for our youngest campers!
The Lower Camp at Camp Westwoods is designed with the unique needs and developmental levels of 4- to 5-year-old campers in mind. Each camper is placed in small, age-appropriate peer groups, led by experienced and caring counselors who prioritize creating a safe, supportive environment. All campers must be fully toilet-trained to attend.
Our Lower Camp program emphasizes social interaction, personal growth, and, of course, lots of fun! Campers enjoy a full but balanced schedule each day, packed with engaging activities such as weekly sports themes, arts and crafts, nature exploration, gymnastics, Red Cross swim instruction, music, and more. Exciting features like our new rock wall, cooperative games, low ropes course, and archery (for campers entering kindergarten) make each day an adventure.

Unforgettable Fun and Exceptional Leadership
In addition to daily activities, Lower Campers participate in special events held right at camp. These events include animal shows, carnivals, magic performances, storytellers, and dance shows, giving young campers memorable experiences without leaving the camp grounds.
The Lower Camp program is led by our dedicated Lower Camp Coordinator, Jessica Campbell. With extensive experience in early childhood education, Jessica is also the Director of Academy Pre-School during the school year. A Camp Westwoods alum herself, Jessica attended as a young camper and returned every summer, progressing from our Leadership Training Program to a counselor, and ultimately, to her current role as Coordinator. Her commitment and love for Camp Westwoods are at the heart of every day in Lower Camp.
